WESTERN BALKANS – The Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs of Montenegro announce Waterborne Week 2025, an event dedicated to strengthening regional cooperation and advancing sustainable maritime transport. Taking place from 14 – 16 May 2025, it will bring together government representatives, industry experts, and international organisations to explore solutions for safer, greener, and more efficient waterborne transport in the Western Balkans.
The event will feature high-level discussions, technical panels, and interactive workshops on topics such as sustainability in port operations, green technologies, multimodal transport, and workforce development. It will also highlight regional efforts to modernise infrastructure and align with EU and international standards.
The Waterborne Week will highlight the establishment of Maritime National Single Window in Montenegro, as well as several specialised workshops, and the meeting of the Transport Community’s Technical Committee for Waterborne Transport and Multimodality.
By taking part in the event, participants will have the chance to engage with policymakers, exchange best practices, and explore funding opportunities for the future of maritime transport, thus practicing networking, building cross-border partnerships, and discussing innovative solutions to enhance sustainability and resilience in maritime transport.
