Following the presentation by the TCT secretariat of a proposal to set up “green lanes” for freight transport between EU MS and WB, please find attached a second working document regarding the re-opening of Borders to private cars.
There is no doubt that the possibility to improve the access to the region avoiding long queues at the borders is of utmost importance given the share of tourism in the GDP among the countries of the region.
This working document aims at defining a stronger coordination of all parties involved prior to the beginning of the summer season (mid-June) and suggests a series of short to medium term actions in order remove the existing constrains that affect BC operations related to passenger traffic (cars and coaches) to be seen as a complement of what TCT proposed for freight.
