One of the crucial tasks in monitoring the implementation of the Green corridors/green lanes initiative in the WB6 performed by the TCT Permanent Secretariat, but also in ensuring free flows of goods and passengers beyond the COVID-19 emergency, is to provide accurate and reliable data on the waiting times at the border crossing points.
At EU level, in order to support the EU Green lane border crossings implementation monitoring, as well as to assist the national authorities to manage more efficiently the transit of critical goods, the EU Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GNSS Agency) has developed “Galileo Green lane” Mobile App. It is a technological solution which will provide MS with a tool to report on the EU Green Lanes implementation, but moreover, it will provide both the border authorities and the truck drivers a real time visualization of the overall border situation and the waiting time.
On the initiative taken by the TCT Permanent Secretariat and in communication with DG MOVE and GNSS Agency, it was confirmed that the WB6 parties are welcome to join the initiative.
