Meeting with Minister Forto

Belgrade, 31 March – Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Edin Forto visited the premises of the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat for productive talks on policy reforms and connectivity infrastructure projects.

“Our discussion focused on flagship connectivity projects from the European Commission’s Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans such as road and rail sections of Corridor Vc, road from Sarajevo to Port of Ploče, enhancing the road connection from Sarajevo to Podgorica and the demining of River Sava. We also touched upon key legislative reforms in the areas of road and rail, in accordance with the Transport Community’s Action Plans such as digitalisation of freight documents and joint border crossing agreements,” Transport Community Director Matej Zakonjšek said.

This year, Transport Community’s focus area is borders in the Western Balkans. Minister Forto was invited to this year’s flagship event, Connectivity Summit, which will be organised with CEFTA. The summit will highlight issues related to sustainable and efficient transport and logistics as main conditions for attracting investments and enhanced trade within the region and with the EU.
