BLACE-HANI I ELEZIT – An important step forward for transport facilitation and regional cooperation in the Western Balkans was made on Saturday, 12 April, with the official launch of the One-Stop Crossing Point System at the Blace-Hani i Elezit Crossing Point between Kosovo* and North Macedonia. The new system, introduced in line with the bilateral agreement signed, and obligations under the Transport Community’s Next Generation Action Plan for Transport Facilitation 2025-2027, enables passenger vehicles to stop only once for border checks, with a single passport control managed jointly by both sides.

The implementation of the One-Stop Control System will contribute to facilitating cross-border traffic, reducing waiting times, and enhancing the overall travel experience for citizens. The system relies on newly developed digital infrastructure that enables real-time data exchange between authorities, ensuring both security and efficiency.

The Blace-Hani i Elezit crossing point has been prioritised under the Green Lanes Initiative, a regional framework that supports the modernisation of border infrastructure to enhance transport flows. Further investments are expected to follow, ensuring that both passenger and commercial flows benefit from streamlined procedures and improved infrastructure.
