OSLO – The Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community continues to carry out activities to strengthen capacity and enable the implementation of EU regulations and standards in the Western Balkans, in line with the Growth Plan agenda. In a study visit to the Norwegian Roads Administration, the representatives of the Transport Community’s regional partners and observing participants (Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Georgia), got a chance to inform themselves about Norway’s experience in the transposition and implementation of intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions in the field of road transport.
As the Norwegian Public Roads Administration is responsible for the planning, construction and operation of the national and county road networks, vehicle inspection and requirements, driver training and licensing, the visit was also the opportunity for the participants to become familiar with the best practices in road management and regulatory compliance.
This initiative is part of the TCT Secretariat’s ongoing efforts to support the region in adopting and applying EU standards across all areas of road transport.
