Novi Sad – The European Union Agency for Railway (ERA), with Transport Community support, organised a two-day training on railway interoperability in Novi Sad, Serbia. More than 40 participants from the Western Balkans, Denmark, Romaniam, Turkey and China. ERA experts provided an overview of structural and functional standards of interoperability.
Transport Community representatives presented our organisation’s activities in the field of rail, focusing on recently published reports on implementation of Transport Community Action Plans and TEN-T development in the region, as well as on the current state of play regarding border crossings and waiting times in the Western Balkans. The workshop in Novi Sad is in line with measures under the Rail Action Plan. TCT and ERA agreed to continue with similar workshops. Tentative calendar of joint activities will be realised in 2023.
