Regional Railway Centre of Excellence
The Rail Centre of Excellence is envisaged to identify and execute knowledge transfer in order to improve the quality of the rail systems, the educational and research systems and their synchronised cooperation with an ultimate goal – developing the Western Balkan rail transport systems in line with the EU transport market.
The Rail Centre of Excellence invests into the future of the Western Balkan rail transport capacities/human resources, increases the awareness and knowledge, and promotes the EU standards and norms related to the rail transport sector.
Additionally, the Rail Centre of Excellence aims to organise a network of educational and research institutions from South East Europe and beyond to foster excellence in transport training through a multidisciplinary approach and cooperation with the Transport Community Secretariat; focus on the Transport Community through topics and subjects relevant for the rail market, covering both specific issues from the South East European parties and the European Union; create an interdisciplinary training program bringing academia, practitioners and future professionals together; allow coaching of participants to support them in overcoming difficulties in dealing with practical issues from their daily work relevant for the rail sector.
Through its work, the Rail Centre of Excellence will achieve:
- Higher quality of the rail transport professionals’ knowledge.
- Improved quality of rail operations.
- Efficient and effective implementation of the Transport Community Treaty priorities.
- Increased regional cooperation.
- Creation of the Network of Transport Professionals.
- Improved capacities of the rail system.
- Improved capacities of the educational institutions.
The trainings will be developed for participants from the Transport Community Parties – employees of the railway undertakings and infrastructure managers and professionals from governmental institutions (ministries, authorities and agencies) or Transport related companies.
